Visit us at our IRC Channel!

Bored? Wanna speak your mind? Have suggestions? Wanna help out with our manga scanlating endeavors?

We have our own IRC channel set up!

Visit us at #Evetaku!

Drop by, give us a greeting, whatever you want~

Why Erica and Sanya? Because I felt like it.

Just a Little Something For You to Know

So you might have noticed that have the first translated chapter of Takkoku!! up for download.

And you might notice some faults in our scanlation.

This is our very first time attempting something like this. Not just me as the typesetter, but everyone else as the cleaner, raw provider, QC'er, etc.

So if you notice faults in our scanlations, we're sorry. Just bear with us, we'll get better!

And no, this blog is not suddenly going to be converted into a manga scanlation site. I'll still be blogging about needless things most of you probably don't care about.

Or if you do, then that's great!

Actually, About Takkoku!!...

Yeah. We're not gonna do Chapters 2-13 for now.

We decided that we'd just continue on where the other scanlation group left off, and begin at Chapter 14.

We'll slowly do Chapters 2-13 as we go on, so by the time we catch up to the latest releases, hopefully we'll have all the previous chapters done as well.

Just a little update for you guys. Expect Chapter 14 up soon!

Or not. Most likely within a week, though.

And About the "Big Thing" I Mentioned...Here it is!!!

Our very first manga scan!

Just what did we scanlate? Takkoku!!

So after two weeks of work on the first chapter (Because first chapters are always so damn long), we're finally all done!

And before you guys say anything, yes, we realize there are already 13 chapters of Takkoku uploaded.

However, did you guys know there's 24 chapters out for this manga? Yeah. We're gonna hit that 24 chapter mark, and keep on going. We wanted to start fresh though, so we decided to start over at Chapter 1. I hope you guys don't mind.

Also, I totally forgot, which is really careless of me, but we had two translators work on this. The first one went MIA after a few pages though, and I forgot to put him in the credits page.

So I'll fix that in the credits page next chapter, but for now, Secondary Translator Credits: PlzDontHurtMe.

Sorry about that >_>
Anyways, enjoy! Download link here!

Or, if you're not a fan of direct downloads, torrent is here.

October 27, 2010

Yeah, ok, I know I haven't been posting much.

Listen to me here for a bit.

Well, my excuse would be school. Midterms are this week, hence why there have been nearly no posts.

Well, not like anybody even comes here. I just do this out of boredom >_>

Anyways, despite all this, there's a BIG surprise coming either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

And I mean BIG. If you love to read manga, you're going to love what's to come

Keep an eye out!

Catherine to Grace Consoles February 2011!

Yes, you know. THAT Catherine. The one being made by the Persona Team.

The story involves Vincent, an ambitionless salaryman (called a "herbivore" in Japanese slang) who is dating Katherine with a K. After a one nightstand with Catherine, Vincent begins to have nightmares with giant sheep and heart monsters

Sound interesting? If so, fear not, chances are you'll be playing it this upcoming February!

I find it amusing that February is also when Valentine occurs. Not so much a coincidence by Atlus, perhaps?

Keep posted for more. Probably.

Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman Review for PSP!

No, this review is not by me. I plan to pick up this game later and play through it, but for now a review has popped up. Find the review here.

I'm definitely looking forward to playing this myself. I really want to support NIS for always going out of their way to bring Japanese games I thought would never be localized over to the states. I mean, not many game publishers out there have the guts to do such a thing.

That and I mean, read the title outloud to yourself. How does this not sound awesome?

The interface seems to heavily resemble Disgaea's interface, which is a good thing. Nice, cute 2D graphics with an easily accessible map. And of course, NIS games are always chock full of entertaining dialogue.

Oh, did I mention that this has Shana/Ore no Imouto/Index/etc. crossovers?

Not cut out of the localized version, by the way. Way to go, NIS America.

Some more screenies on the bottom.

Got a PSP? Be sure to support NIS America and buy this game!

Keep posted for more news~

Sengoku Basara 3: Samurai Heroes Early Impressions

So this game came out on the Wii and PS3 yesterday.

I'll say this: This game is awesome. Really awesome.

So I start up the game, I'm greeted with an awesome cinematic opening with a TAM Revolution song playing in the background. I knew from the start that I was in for an awesome game.

I picked Yukimura Sanada as my first character.

I went through his story in about an hour and a half.

I enjoyed every microsecond of it.

Despite this being a musou game at its core, the actual combat and skill system that this game implements (which is a HUGE improvement from Sengoku Basara 2) adds a lot of depth and fun to the supposedly repetitive combat.

Not much else to say for now, other than that the game so far is really great. Definitely pick up this gem, it's only $39.99.

I'll post a full impression after I'm done with the game. Currently on Masamune's story so far.

Keep posted.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume Ep. 2 Impressions

And so comes the second episode of Shinrayku! Ika Musume.

Nothing has really changed fundamentally from the first episode. The overall structure, pacing, style and humor remain intact, which is a great thing. The whole show feels really light hearted, and it's a show where I can just sit back in my chair and relax while watching.

So as the episode progressed, the first of the three stories in the episode introduces us to a new character.

Pictured on the left.
He's named Arashiyama Goro, and he works as a lifesaver on the beach. He's apparently Eiko's childhood friend. Soon after he's introduced, Ika Musume develops a rivalry with Goro, with both competing against one another to see who the "true" guardian and protector of the sea is.

The animation remains top notch, with no visible glaring QUALITY scenes like Star Driver had. Everything flowed smoothly, and the background and character details were fleshed out smoothly as well. The great facial expressions were evident in this episode as well.

The second story in the episode follows cast celebrating Ika Musume's birthday (when it really wasn't her birthday).

Cake, fireworks, and imaginary attempted murder was involved.

The third story in the episode introduced us to a new female character, Sanae, who happens to be very cute.

Yes, I have a thing for Alice headbands and short brown hair.

Thing is, she's completely head over heels in "love" with Ika Musume, since Sanae thinks she's really cute. Or something.

The kanji character reads "love"
She even went as far as to take various pictures of Ika Musume, and made a photo album out of it.

Sanae rape face imminent

gon' get raped

...and caught red handed.
Here are various pictures of Ika Musume in various outfits for (Sanae's) your viewing pleasure

Still a keeper for this Fall season. Great, comedic show thus far with a cast of likeable characters.

Look out for the next episode impression, or my Star Driver episode 2 impression.

New Phoenix Wright Game? And no, I don't mean Investigations 2.

Capcom created a site to celebrate Ace Attorney's 10th anniversary, which is to take place next year.

However, on the website is a very particular image.

The cover of the book translates to "Witch Trial". Could this mean a new Phoenix Wright game is on the rise after Investigations 2?

Who knows. I'd love to see another though.

Alright, so after months and months of waiting, Remember11, from the same company that brought you the ever-amazing Ever17, has been fully translated in english!

Get the patch here.

Star Driver Episode 1 Impressions

Five words: This show is fucking FABULOUS!

So the episode starts off to a quick note.

...With the main heroine giving our protagonist a life-saving mouth to mouth CPR. Apparently, Takuto (the protagonist) swam all the way to the island when he missed his ferry, thus his unconscious state.

Within the first few minutes of the episode though, I did notice some glaring QUALITY animation.

There are many more examples of such glaringly bad animations early on, and almost prompted me to stop watching the show.

The first episode goes through with quite a fast pace as it progresses, introducing characters left and right.

This show is full of fabulously handsome bastards.

Nothing felt too slow, and although you may notice the pacing to be really fast, everything actually connects and flows really smoothly, giving the show an excited, rushed feeling. This is especially evident in the latter part of the episode, but I'll get to that.

As I clocked in about 9 minutes, the opening starts to play. Boy, was I impressed. I have never seen such a colorful display of colors in an opening before, and it really captured my attention.

They even threw in a Sengoku Basara advertisement!

Put ya guns on!

As the story progresses, I found out that there's this whole weird secret cult thing with people wearing yellow bird masks all over the place. A lot of confusing terms and sudden plot development left me wondering if I really was watching the first episode. Many things are talked about and discussed between the characters, but nothing really gets explained.

As I remained confused, Takuto decides to break into the goldmine he was specifically told not to trespass. Well, guess what.

He ends up lying off the wires off the fence. However, he's soon caught by more people wearing strange bird masks, and he ends up fighting one of them. Sadly, I have no pictures to show since I was so immersed with the sudden huge jump in animation production. The short fight scene was very nicely animated, and by the time it was over I was left wanting for more.

Anyways, the main girl (the one who's shown giving CPR to Takuto in the first picture), Wako, is kidnapped and is going to be used for...something. She seems to know what's up, but I sure don't. Like I said, the plot just advanced by itself without explaining anything at all. I suppose this whole thing will be explained eventually, but I felt really left out as I continued watching.

Things happen, a really amazing transformation scene takes place (no, it's not a girl) and we're introduced to our very first mecha in the show.

And suddenly, out comes Takuto and his own mecha.

Begin the FABULOUS transformation scene.

This is when the animation really kicks it up a notch. I was mesmerized, I'll be honest; I almost forgot to take screenies because I was so immersed with the animation itself. The fight scene itself was FABULOUS as well, being very heavily reminiscent of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan.

Even the enemy mech looks like something out of TTGL.

Takuto is the Galactic Pretty Boy, apparently. I don't know.
I don't have any screens of the actual fight scene itself, because it was so goddamn amazing that I completely forgot to take some pictures. As the fight ends, everything is nicely wrapped up, and we go on to the ED.

All in all, this show is not without its glaring animation faults at times. Though, I'm glad their actually important scenes seem to have a really high budget, and are animated beautifully. The animation style throughout (especially during the fight scene) heavily reminded me of when I watched TTGL, which is awesome.

All in all, definitely give this FABULOUS show a watch. It'll be well worth your time.

Star Driver Episode 2 Impressions coming up tomorrow.

FABULOUS!
